ベルリンに来てからというもの——
Bolt、Dott、Lime…
この街のあちこちで見かける
電動レンタル自転車が、
いまや私の“足”になっています。
日本でも見たことはあったけれど、
実は一度も使ったことがなくて…
でもこちらで初めて借りてみたら、
「やばいくらい快適」
乗り捨てできる手軽さと、
滑るような走行感にすっかり虜になりました。
息子は夫用に購入したMTBに、
私は電動自転車にまたがって、
毎日のようにベルリンの街を4時間ほど探検。
昨日は「ベルリンテレビ塔」から街を一望し、
その足で、ベルリン最古の動物園と水族館へ。
風を切りながら石畳を走り抜け、
ふと足を止めては、
目の前の光景をシャッターに閉じ込める——。
それは、バスでも電車でも味わえない、
「この街の呼吸」と一緒に
旅をしているような感覚。
ベルリン生活、
今日も私の歩幅で、
心地よく進んでいます。

】Since moving to Berlin, electric bikes like Bolt, Dott, and Lime have become an integral part of my everyday routine.
In Japan, I often saw rental bikes but never once tried them.
Here, I took one for a ride—and oh, what a revelation it was!
So smooth, so effortless, and the freedom of leaving it anywhere…
It felt like the city itself invited me to explore.
My older son rides the mountain bike I bought for my husband, and I glide beside him on an electric bike, spending nearly four hours a day wandering through Berlin.
Yesterday, my older son and I reached the Berlin TV Tower,
gazing over the city from above,
Then, we pedaled to the oldest zoo and aquarium in town.
As the wind brushed my face,
I found myself stopping now and then—
to capture a fleeting reflection in a window,
a play of light on a façade,
a tree swaying against the skyline.
There’s something about exploring by bike—
You don’t just pass through the city,
You breathe with it.
Life in Berlin moves at its own rhythm.
And I’m learning to match my pace with the wind.
