11月1日から17日まで、
息子と二人、スイスへ行きます。
行き先は——
チューリッヒ経由、インターラーケンへ。
湖と山が抱き合うその地で、
またひとつ、
人生の新しい物語が
開かれようとしています。
長男・慧は、現地の学校に
1週間通わせてもらい、
そのあとはスイスのスキーチームにジョインして、
アルプスの雪の上でトレーニング…
ベルリンからチューリッヒまでは、
飛行機でたったの1時間半。
まるで羽田から大阪へ行くような距離感。
その間、私は——というと、
ツェルマットの風を感じに行こうか、
それとも湖畔で本を開こうかと、
心の中で静かに、
小さな旅の地図を描いています。
不思議なのは、
この旅の始まりが
「3年前のZoom」だったということ。
コロナ禍の最中に出会ったスイスの友人。
そして、その友人の紹介で——
お互いの子どもが同い年で、
アルペンスキーを愛しているという友人と繋がった。
いくつもの偶然が重なり、
やがて必然に変わっていったご縁。
それから3年。
Facebookやメッセージで紡いできた絆が、
今、現実の風景へと
姿を変えようとしています。

「いつか子どもたちが
一緒に滑れたらいいね」

あの時、笑いながら交わした言葉が、
まさか本当に叶うなんて。
人生の物語は、
いつだって想像を超える形で続いていく。
生きているだけで丸儲けなのに、
その上にこんな
奇跡を重ねてもらえるなんて。
そう思うと、
ただ空を見上げて
「ありがとう」と言いたくなるのです。

【A Small Miracle Journey to Switzerland

From November 1st to 17th,
my son and I will be traveling to Switzerland.
Our route: from Berlin to Zurich,
and then onward to Interlaken —
a place where lakes embrace the mountains,
and another new chapter of life quietly unfolds.
My eldest son, Kei, will spend a week attending a local school,
and afterward, he’ll join a Swiss ski team,
training on the snowfields of the Alps.
It’s just a 1.5-hour flight from Berlin to Zurich —
about the same distance as Tokyo to Osaka.
And as for me —
I’m drawing a gentle map in my heart:
perhaps I’ll feel the wind of Zermatt,
or sit by a quiet lake with a book and a smile.
What makes this journey so magical
is how it all began — with a single Zoom call three years ago.
During the pandemic,
I met a friend from Switzerland.
Through her, I was introduced to another mother —
our sons were the same age,
and both shared a deep love for alpine skiing.
A chain of coincidences
slowly wove itself into something meant to be.
For three years, we’ve kept in touch
through Facebook and small messages across time zones —
and now, that invisible thread
is becoming something real,
something we can finally step into.
Back then, we laughed and said,
“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our kids could ski together someday?”
We never imagined that someday would truly come.
Life has its own mysterious way
of writing stories beyond what we can imagine.
Just being alive is already a gift —
and yet, here comes another miracle, softly landing in my hands.
Sometimes, all I can do
is look up at the sky and whisper,
“Thank you.”
The next page of this story
will be written in the wind and snow of Switzerland —
with smiles that say everything words cannot.
